Since Yosemite National Park is so big, I could only visit so many places and hike so many trails during my 3 and a half days there.

For those of you interested in photography, I was fortunate to have two digital cameras with me.  Olympus C2000 and a Cannon PowerShot G1.  There are some scenic pics I took with both cameras for comparison.

Glacier Point
Glacier point is a peak south of Yosemite Valley.  You don't get much scenic view along the road but the view from Taft Point and Glacier Point is breath taking.

Here is a picture of the canyon taken by both the Olympus and Cannon.

Yosemite Valley
Yosemite valley is probably the heart of the park.  The drive around the valley is filled with kodak moments.  In my case, Olympus and Cannon moments.

As you get near the valley approaching from the South, you'll pass through a tunnel. As soon as you clear the tunnel, you'll see the view of the entire valley.

Couple of minute past the Tunnel view, is the BridalVeil fall.   If you follow a very short trail to the bottom of the fall, you'll get absolutely soaked.  Taking a picture without getting your camera wet is a big challenge.

You can see much better view of the fall, if you stroll along the trail until you reach a small bridge.

Here is a picture at the bottom of the fall at dusk.  FYI, the picture was taken with the Cannon G1 at 4 sec shutter priority.

In the valley, you can take the shuttle bus to the lower Yosemite Fall as well as to the beginning of Yosemite Fall trail which leads you to the very top of the fall.  About 8 miles round trip.

If you plan on hiking to the top of the fall, start early.  I made the mistake of starting the hike at 3:00 and barely got back before the sun set (at 8:00).

In the east side of the valley, is the Vernal fall.  If you think you got wet at Bridalveil fall, wait until you try to climb to the top of this fall.

The trail itself doesn't seem to be long but it sure feels that way, when you're walking through constant shower.

North of Vernal fall (one shuttle bus stop away) is the Mirror lake.  Or actually what's left of it.
Toulumne Meadows
Toulumne Meadows is located on the East-north side of the park.  I think I was fortunate to catch a glimpse of the meadows since it dries up in the summer.

Across the road from the meadow is the Lambert dome.

Since the elevation at Toulumne meadow area is so high (~9,900 ft), there are still snow on the ground in May.

Hetch Hetchy
Hetch Hetchy was my last stop of the trip. You have to exit the park and re-enter it to get there.

My opinion ...  if you're short on time or is out of your way, this is one of the sites you can miss.   BTW, the picture was taken with Cannon.
