Sunol Regional Wilderness

With guests visiting the sunny California before Thanksgiving holidays, we ventured out to a different park for a day of hiking.

Sunol Regional Wilderness park turned out to be a good hiking spot. You can find more information on this park as well as other parks in the bay area at East Bay Regional Park Website.

BTW, make sure you get off the correct Calaveras exit from Highway 880. Its the one in Freemont, not Milpitas. The one in Milpitas, will take you through a very long (but scenic) route for about an hour. That is, if you don't get lost. :)

Yosemites National Park

Some pics from my recent (and very first) trip to Yosemites National Park.  Although I was there for 3 and a half days, I didn't see all the sites I wanted to see.  Its a huge park.

Sanborn Park

Some pics from recent hike to Sanborn Park in Saratoga (near Big Basin).

Angel Island

Can't think of too many places where you can go hiking in cool 60 degree weather a week before Christmas.   I'm glad the bay area is one of those places.

Some pics from our recent visit to Angel Island ...

Stinson Beach

Obviously, the picture on the left is not Stinson beach.  Its a site along the hiking trail en-route to Stinson beach.

Great trail especially since you can stretch out on the beach at the end.

Big Basin

If you want to see some very old, very tall red wood trees, this is the place to be.

So many hiking trails, so little time.

Mount Diablo

One of the highest peak in the bay area.  You can get a great view at the summit.   Just be prepared.  Its freezing at the top !!!

Panoramic view from the peak

Mission Peak

This is the closest hiking trail in the area (20 min away from mi casa).  The site of my weekly Saturday morning hike.

Despite claims by few, I do make it to the top. :P
